MANILA, Philippines - Seven people, including a child, were killed Sunday in a predawn fire that hit a furniture warehouse in Mandaluyong City.
A radio dzBB report by Manny Vargas said the fire hit the furniture warehouse in Plainview in Mandaluyong City at 12:52 a.m. and reached the fourth alarm before being put out at 3:35 a.m.
Local village officials earlier identified three of the victims, but arson investigators declined to confirm the information pending notification of relatives.
On the other hand, a separate report on dzRH radio said the fatalities included one female child, five women, and one man.
The dzRH report quoted firefighters as saying the victims were trapped because there was no
