كما تنفرد المطبوعة بخاصية سهولة الحفظ والاقتناء, والاحتفاظ بالمعلومات أطول مدة ممكنة. وتتيح للقارئ تكرار القراءة والتفكير بروية فيها يقراه, والعودة له لاحقا للتحقق.

6 تتميز الصحافة بان قارئها بقوم بنفسه بتحصيل فحواها فهو لا يحتاج إلى وسيط لنقل ما فيها من معلومات إلى ذهن القارئ .
7 يرى البعض أن من سلبيات المطبوعات أنها تحتاج لجهد كبير أكثر من أي وسلة اتصاليه أخرى, إلا أننا نرى أنها ايجابية ذلك أن جهد القراءة يعتبر كبيرا بالنسبة للكثيرين غير المتدربين على القراءة السريعة الفاحصة, مما يتيح لهم تعلم ذلك والتدرب عليه من خلال قراءتهم اليومية للصحف.
