DOHA: Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) is preparing to host ‘Doha Park’, the largest entertainment event in Qatar for six weeks presenting a many activities to promote tourism.
More than 100 cultural and entertaining activities are scheduled to be held at this festival to attract people in Qatar and tourists especially from GCC states and other countries, for 43 days between October 6 and November 17, ending with Eid Al Adha celebrations.
The festival will feature more than 100 entertaining events and attractions, including an amusement park, an international circus, theatrical plays, concerts, a 3D cinema, and performances by folkloric bands depicting the heritage of Qatar and other Arabic countries, appearances by famous cartoon personalities, a play area for children under the age of 10.
“Entertainment programmes, a live theatre for children and various fun athletic activities to cater everyone in the family will feature at the Doha Park” said Ahmed Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Chairman, Qatar Tourism Authority, at a Press conference held at the Doha Exhibition Center yesterday.
‘Doha Park’ to be held in collaboration with the Economic Group will take place in the 30,000 sq meter open area, near the Doha Exhibition Center. “This is the area in which QTA recently invested and upgraded its infrastructure to be able to host all sorts of events, ensuring the highest safety standards and a joyful experience to all festival visitors,” said Lahdan Al Mohannadi Head of Local Exhibitions, Qatar Tourism Authority. “QTA has made the entry to the activity areas free of charge,” he further said. However, a nominal fee will be charged to play electric and electronic games at the amusement park. This park will offer more than 35 big electric games to suit all ages, electronic, video and skill games, many surprises and various programs during the Eid days. The festival will also host the first impressionist exposition with more than 20 artists. Many
